Colin Matthews (b. 1989) is an American photographer born in Chicago, Illinois. An education in anthropology and a career in design informs the candid yet meticulously composed nature of his images. His largely analog approach sets the viewer adrift in inky shadows, coarse textures, and nostalgic tones. Colin’s work is preoccupied with minutiae of human experience—oddities included—while never gawking or surrendering empathy. He lives in Richmond, Virginia with his partner, Jess, and works around the world.
